ABOUT THE JOB

The Executive Director of Administration & Student Services provides support in the management of student welfare, including attendance boundaries, student attendance and truancy enforcement, student discipline, bully prevention, discipline appeals, student grievances, student transfers, and revisions of policies/regulations. Our primary goal is to ensure that student support services operate in a consistent and highly efficient manner so that educators and students can focus on learning.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Master’s Degree (preferred Education/School Administration)


Mid-management Certification preferred

2 years of successful experience in Central Office Administration - preferred

3 years of successful experience as Campus Administrator

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND/OR SKILLS - EXPERIENCE

A good candidate for this position will possess knowledge of selection, training and supervision of personnel; the ability to implement policies and procedures; the ability to organize and coordinate district-wide programs; the ability to analyze and interpret data and statistics; knowledge of school finance and budget development; strong communication, public relations, organization and interpersonal skills; and the ability to use Microsoft Office and Google Docs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Executive Director of Administration & Student Services will possess continual growth and professional development to ensure District compliance with state and federal requirements; will coordinate with the Director of Safety in the planning and implementation of District Emergency Operation activities coordinate with the Director of Safety maintaining guidelines and training for Crossing Guards; ensure district compliance in all local, state and federal requirements for safety and security; provide training for all district and campus administrators on student services practices and legal guidelines; coordinate guidelines and training for district volunteers; coordinate and oversee district transfer process and reviews; provide training throughout the year for all campus behavior coordinators and campus administrators; work with technology and campus administrators with the video surveillance process; work with curriculum and instruction and the lead nurse on health/safety and SHAC; implement student discipline policies and procedures established by state law, the Texas Education Agency and the local School Board; oversee all-district expulsion hearings; monitor student placements in DAEP; update and train campus administrators on Chapter 37 and district processes for discipline; assist campus administrators/behavior coordinators with fair and consistent administration of discretionary DAEP placements; and keep the Asst. Superintendent fully informed of all discipline emergency operations/safety and security matters.

The Executive Director of Administration & Student Services will update and implement policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and the local school board; develop and revise district policies and procedures/regulations which ensure local, state, and federal compliance for all student service areas; work with district and campus administrators in developing the district student code of conduct and campus student handbooks; supervise district bullying, suicide and harassment prevention plans, policies and procedures; and participate in District-wide decision-making activities to identify issues and practices that affect the future of the District.

The Executive Director of Administration & Student Services will implement attendance, residency and truancy policies and procedures established by state law, the Texas Education Agency and the local School Board; coordinate with Director of PEIMS in order to maintain accurate residency, attendance, transfer information and truancy records; coordinate with campus administrators and SROs for residency checks; and ensure timely notification to parents/guardians regarding concerns with student attendance, i.e. 90% attendance rule.

The Executive Director of Administration & Student Services will respond to issues and problems of students and parents; work with complainants, school principals, and other necessary staff to resolve issues and problems; hear parent complaints to the Central Office; and conduct and make determination on parent complaints/discipline appeals; serve as Midlothian ISD Title IX Coordinator and ensure compliance Title IX regulations and investigation procedures.

The Executive Director of Administration & Student Services will share the district’s mission, vision and goals with the community; and represent the district at community events.

The Executive Director of Administration & Student Services will perform all other related duties as assigned; and compile budgets and cost estimates based on documented program needs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise and evaluate the Director of Health Services and any assigned clerical staff. Provide feedback to campus principals on-campus behavior coordinators.

Salary Range: $101,724 - $143,388
