**ABOUT THE JOB**

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for supporting the Chief Human Capital Officer and Executive Director of Human Resources in the overall management of the district’s human resources function. The Human Resources Manager oversees assigned areas and ensures that human resources management programs, policies, and practices are legally sound and effective.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
High School diploma or equivalent

Three to five years in Human Resources or a related field

**SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND/OR SKILLS - EXPERIENCE**

A good candidate for this position will possess the ability to implement policies and procedures; effective communication and interpersonal skills; strong organizational skills and attention to detail; and the ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, perform data analysis, and do word processing.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES **

The Human Resources Manager will monitor the certification status of professional employees; inform principals/supervisors of employees with certification deficiencies; maintain campus contract spreadsheets; and submit SOEs to Alternative Certification Programs.

The Human Resources Manager will post job vacancy announcements and advertisements and close job postings once filled; process recommendations for professional employees, new hires, transfers, and separations; calculate salaries for professional new hires; determine salary adjustments for promotions, demotions, and transfers; investigate and respond to salary review requests from professional employees and process salary changes as needed; maintain spreadsheets for tracking job vacancies, transfers, and separations; and maintain the separation calendar.

The Human Resources Manager will assist with maintaining files for all employees and applicants, including receiving and routing of changes (e.g., name, address changes, etc.); assist in processing requests for official district records; enter and update employee information in the HR central database; assist with verifying with new employees that information received from the previous district is correct in determining years of service and leave days; and manage the maintenance of electronic personnel files for all professional staff, including scanning current documents into the HR repository.

The Human Resources Manager will process state unemployment insurance claims for former and seasonal school district employees; collect wage data, termination reasons, and communication records from campus and department supervisors; submit timely, accurate documentation to the state workforce commission; prepare documentation and represent the school district at unemployment hearings.

The Human Resources Manager will process requests for medical, physical, and religious accommodations under the ADA, Rehabilitation Act, and Title VII; review medical certifications and documentation from healthcare providers to determine eligibility and functional limitations; partner with principals and department heads to implement practical classroom or workplace adjustments.

The Human Resources Manager will compile pertinent data needed to process administrator and teacher contracts; compile pertinent data needed to process employee beginning of year forms; complete employee loan forgiveness forms; assist with responding to requests from financial institutions regarding verification of employment; run criminal history checks on MISD employees and private duty nurses; maintain private duty nurse background spreadsheet; compile information needed to complete federal, state, and local surveys - (EEO5, OER, OCR, TASB, Principal Survey for First-Year Teachers); receive and process open records requests; generate Skyward reports for district staff; assist payroll in the preparation and development of pay scales each year to ensure they are updated and correct; assist PEIMS department with PEIMS submission fatal errors; and maintain confidentiality.

**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**

Supervise and evaluate the work of the Human Resources Clerk, Human Resources Auxiliary Specialist, and Benefits Specialist

Salary Range: $66,552 - $93,804
