| Campus Description: | Hays CISD's 15th elementary school was approved by voters in the May 2021 bond election and construction began on the campus in June 2021.<br /> <br /> The 117,611 square-foot campus, located within the Sunfield subdivision in Buda, opened in August 2022 and features the district's next generation prototype of elementary campus design. Hays CISD will use this design, created by Huckabee Architects, as a footprint for future elementary schools. The new elementary campus in Sunfield can house up to 900 students grades K - 5 and is built on 16.5 acres of land.<br /> <br /> “The building that will be built on this site is our next generation prototype, which checks off all the boxes necessary to provide for an exceptional well-rounded education for our students all the while paying close attention to economy of scale and affordability,” said Hays CISD Superintendent Dr. Eric Wright. “The finished product will be a source of pride for our students, this neighborhood and community, as well as to Hays CISD as a whole.” |
