Campus Description: Elgin ISD is a fast growth District of Innovation located in Elgin, TX, just 19 miles East of Austin on Hwy 290. We are a 5A district with 5 elementaries, 1 intermediate school, 1 middle school, 1 high school and 1 alternative high school.<br /> <br /> We offer students a progressive, comprehensive academic and extracurricular experience including a well-developed CTE program and Early College High School (in partnership with Austin Community College). All classrooms and facilities in Elgin ISD include outstanding technology providing a 21st Century Learning environment and we are in our 5th year of our 1:1 Initiative equipping students in middle and high schools with personal devices and Google Classroom.<br /> <br /> Elgin ISD embraces the One Town, One Team, One Family philosophy. Description/Notes: Primary Purpose
Provide executive leadership for the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of prekindergarten through grade 5 curriculum, instruction, assessment, professional learning, and assigned academic programs. Ensure that elementary schools provide a coherent, rigorous, developmentally appropriate instructional program that strengthens foundational literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, student engagement, and readiness for successful transition to middle school.
Qualifications: Qualifications:
Education and Certification
● Master’s degree in educational administration, curriculum and instruction, or related field from an accredited institution
● Valid Texas Superintendent Certificate preferred
● Valid Texas principal, mid-management, or other appropriate administrator certification required
● Doctorate preferred Experience
● Minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching experience, preferably at the elementary level
● Minimum of five years of successful campus and/or central-office leadership experience ● Elementary principal experience strongly preferred
● Demonstrated success in elementary literacy, mathematics, instructional coaching, professional learning, and school improvement
● Successful school improvement experience preferred
Special Knowledge and Skills
1. Knowledge of elementary curriculum, TEKS, state assessment requirements, accountability systems, and school improvement processes
2. Knowledge of evidence-based early literacy, reading instruction, writing instruction, mathematics instruction, and intervention systems
3. Knowledge of developmental learning needs for prekindergarten through grade 5 students
4. Ability to analyze student performance data and use findings to improve instruction and intervention
5. Ability to lead large-scale curriculum implementation and professional learning
6. Ability to develop, manage, and monitor budgets, staffing, grants, and instructional resources
7. Strong communication, organization, leadership, and interpersonal skills
