Qualifications: Education/Certification

Master’s degree in educational administration, business administration, public administration, or related field
Valid Texas superintendent, principal, or mid-management certification preferred
Texas administrator certification preferred
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate

Experience

Minimum of 5 years of successful leadership experience in school district operations, campus administration, or central office administration
Experience supervising multiple departments or large teams
Experience with facilities, maintenance, transportation, safety/security, construction, child nutrition, or other operational systems preferred
Experience managing budgets, staffing plans, contracts, vendors, and compliance requirements
Experience working with school boards, community partners, law enforcement, and city/county agencies preferred

Knowledge and Skills
Strong understanding of school district operations and how they support teaching and learning
Knowledge of school safety, emergency management, facility planning, transportation systems, and operational efficiency
Ability to develop and implement systems that improve accountability, communication, and service delivery
Strong leadership, supervision, and personnel management skills
Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make sound operational decisions
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, board policy, and administrative regulations
Ability to build positive relationships with staff, parents, community members, and district leadership
