Leakey Independent School District is a PreK–3 through Grade 12 campus serving approximately 304 students in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, one of the most breathtaking and sought-after regions in the entire state. Nestled in the Frio Canyon along the banks of the legendary Frio River, Leakey ISD sits in a stretch of countryside that has rightfully earned the nickname “The Swiss Alps of Texas.” From certain hilltops on campus and throughout the surrounding area, you can see stretching vistas of more than 35 miles, a daily reminder that this is no ordinary place to live and work.<br />

The district recently completed a major investment in its students and staff with the opening of a brand-new secondary building, featuring state-of-the-art science labs, fully equipped computer labs, a new gymnasium, and a modern cafetorium. This facility upgrade reflects the community’s deep commitment to providing Leakey Eagles with a first-class educational environment that rivals that of much larger districts, while preserving the close-knit culture that makes small-town Texas schools so special.<br />
