| Description/Notes: | PRIMARY PURPOSE ARD: Facilitate Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings and complete required ARD paperwork. Monitor implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and facilitate communication with parents and staff. Section 504: Coordinate and manage Section 504 programs for assigned campuses, including evaluations. Provide support to students, parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators in identifying, evaluating, and developing accommodation plans for students requiring services under Section 504. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Program Management Complete Section 504 evaluations to determine eligibility. Establish agendas, meeting timelines, and procedural guidelines for ARD and 504 meetings. Facilitate committee discussions to ensure collaboration, participation, and timely completion of meetings. Ensure compliance with all federal and state timelines related to ARD and 504 processes. Maintain communication between special education and general education personnel regarding meetings, accommodations, instructional concerns, and student progress. Support implementation of IEPs and accommodation plans to promote student achievement. Ensure student progress is evaluated regularly and recommendations are made to improve program effectiveness as appropriate. Collaborate with teachers to address student achievement concerns through instructional supports, resources, and technology. Assist in monitoring instructional processes to ensure alignment with IEPs, IAPs, and desired student outcomes. Instructional Support 1. Support district student management expectations and behavior procedures. 2. Use coaching strategies to support staff, build capacity, and provide technical assistance. 3. Provide orientation and training for new staff regarding ARD and Section 504 procedures. Communication and Community Relations 1. Coordinate and communicate with campus appraisal staff and related service personnel. 2. Maintain positive relationships with principals, teachers, staff, and parents. 3. Serve as a parent liaison regarding assessment, eligibility, accommodations, and IEP matters. 4. Promote district goals and support for special education services. Policy, Reports, and Law 1. Compile, maintain, and file all required reports, records, and documentation. 2. Comply with federal and state laws, State Board of Education rules, and local board policy. 3. Make recommendations to improve program effectiveness. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None. | Qualifications: | QUALIFICATIONS Education/Certification: • Master’s degree in education or related field preferred • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university • Valid Texas teaching certificate in Special Education or related field Special Knowledge/Skills: • Knowledge of state and federal laws related to educating students with disabilities, including ADA, IDEA, Texas Administrative Code, and Texas Education Code • Understanding of the individual needs of students with disabilities • Ability to provide or supervise specially designed instruction to meet student needs • Ability to communicate effectively with parents and staff • Ability to implement policies and procedures • Ability to interpret data • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Experience: • Three years of experience serving students with disabilities and participating in ARD and/or 504 meetings |
| Salary Range: | $62,640 to $86,503 Per Year |
