Description/Notes: White Settlement ISD is seeking a dynamic and student-focused educator to lead our Health Science program and prepare students for success in healthcare careers, postsecondary education, and industry certification pathways. The ideal candidate will combine real-world healthcare knowledge with engaging instruction that inspires students to pursue careers in the medical field.

Primary Purpose

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and hands-on experiences in Health Science education designed to develop technical skills, workplace readiness, leadership abilities, and academic success aligned to Career and Technical Education standards.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred
Valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate Health Science or CTE certification
Industry experience in healthcare, nursing, medical assisting, athletic training, EMT, or related field preferred
Ability to meet TEA requirements for Health Science assignment
Current industry licensure/certification preferred (RN, LVN, CMA, EMT, etc.)
CPR/First Aid certification preferred
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Plan and deliver engaging instruction aligned to TEKS and CTE Health Science pathways
Provide hands-on, real-world learning experiences connected to healthcare careers
Prepare students for industry-based certifications and postsecondary opportunities
Develop and maintain safe classroom and lab environments
Integrate employability skills, professionalism, and leadership development into instruction
Utilize technology, simulation activities, and healthcare equipment appropriately
Monitor student progress and use data to guide instruction and intervention
Collaborate with counselors, campus staff, business partners, and healthcare organizations
Support CTSO/student leadership opportunities such as HOSA
Maintain required documentation, inventories, safety procedures, and compliance standards

The Health Science Teacher may work in classroom, lab, clinical, and career-connected learning environments. Some extended hours may be required for student organizations, competitions, or partnership activities.

Salary based on the district teacher salary schedule and years of approved experience. Our current minimum starting is $63,300. We are announcing our raises in July 2026.
