Campus Description: The University of Texas at Austin High School District offers two online high schools to over 1000 full time students, and online courses, exams, and services to thousands of students and educators across Texas and beyond. The UTHS District team members work on-site at the UT-Austin Main Campus. UTHS District is an accredited public high school district, designated as a special purpose district established in 1999.

Description/Notes: This position requires reporting to work on the UT Austin main campus; however, currently the UT High School District has a hybrid remote schedule. This position requires remote internet access.

Purpose:
Design and deliver high-quality online Career and Technical Education (CTE) instruction aligned to TEKS and industry standards to support student success in college and career pathways. This role combines innovative course development with engaging virtual teaching practices, while providing support for CTE initiatives, including P-TECH pathways. The position collaborates across teams and with external partners to enhance programs, monitor student outcomes, and ensure meaningful learning experiences.

Responsibilities:
Design and develop engaging online CTE courses, assessments, and instructional materials aligned to TEKS and industry standards. Apply best practices in online learning to create content that supports learners and prepares students for college and career pathways using Canvas and other instructional technologies.
Teach and facilitate online CTE courses using research-based instructional strategies. Provide timely feedback, foster student engagement, and support mastery of course content through effective virtual communication, interactive learning experiences, and progress monitoring.
Support the implementation and growth of CTE programs, including P-TECH pathways, by collaborating with internal teams and external partners. Contribute to pathway development, align coursework to workforce outcomes, and assist in coordinating resources, communication, and program requirements.
Monitor student progress and outcomes to inform instructional decisions and provide targeted support. Collaborate with instructors, staff, and stakeholders to improve student success, support assessment initiatives (including credit by exam as applicable), and contribute to program development, training, and outreach efforts.
Qualifications: Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and secondary teaching experience. Texas Teacher Certification in either Computer Science 8-12, Technology Applications 6-12, Business and Finance 6-12, or Health Science 6-12. Experience designing instruction and assessments for high school CTE courses. Comprehensive understanding of Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), STAAR expectations, and best practices in CTE instruction and assessment. Experience implementing support for a variety of student group needs, including emergent bilingual, Gifted/Talented, and special education students. Successful experience supporting students to achieve targeted objectives and tracking and reporting student data. Experience with online instruction. Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task with high level of proficiency. Professional demeanor. Exceptional organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
More than five years of teaching experience. More than three years of experience teaching secondary CTE courses in Texas public schools. Three or more years’ experience in a leadership role in an educational setting. Experience developing and delivering professional development to educators. In-depth understanding of the TEKS, Texas Education Code, FERPA, and graduation requirements. Extensive knowledge of best practices in assessment proctoring and scoring. Educator certification in multiple subject areas. Experience developing or facilitating online instruction. Experience leading trainings for teachers for curriculum, social emotional, G/T, Advanced Placement, or English learner strategies. Experience with blended learning instruction. Experience presenting or marketing at conferences.
Satisfactory outcomes of fingerprinting and criminal background check required.
Salary Range: $63,000 + depending on qualifications
