Description/Notes: PRIMARY PURPOSE:



The Director of School Leadership and Support serves as a critical operational partner to the Assistant Superintendents of School Leadership. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day operational issues across assigned campuses, with a particular focus on resolving parent concerns, student and staff grievances, and systemic challenges that could impact campus climate and instructional focus.



The Director will collaborate closely with district departments, campus leaders, and key stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations, ensure strong communication between schools and central office, and support principals in maintaining safe, responsive, and productive school environments. By handling time-sensitive non-instructional matters, this role enables the Assistant Superintendents to focus on developing instructional leadership and improving student outcomes.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Stakeholder Support & Communication

Respond to and resolve stakeholder concerns and complaints from parents, staff, and community members across assigned campuses
Investigate and assist with student and staff grievances in collaboration with Human Resource Services, Legal Services, and campus administration
Serve as a liaison between the district, campuses, and families to ensure timely communication and problem resolution
Build trust with school communities through responsive and transparent engagement


Operational Leadership

Identify recurring operational issues across campuses and collaborate with district departments to develop and implement proactive solutions
Monitor and support the implementation of district policies related to student conduct, staff interactions, safety, and grievance processes
Facilitate effective communication and coordination between campuses and central office departments to ensure alignment and timely support
Analyze and report data and trends related to operational concerns, climate issues, and resolution outcomes


Support of School Leadership

Assist Assistant Superintendents in monitoring and supporting campus operations, especially in areas affecting school culture, safety, and stakeholder satisfaction
Participate in campus visits, school events, and leadership meetings as a representative of the Assistant Superintendent’s Office
Support district and campus leadership in maintaining safe, orderly learning environments
Assist with the planning and execution of leadership development, staff communication, and parent engagement initiatives as needed
Collaboration and Compliance

Work with appropriate district departments (e.g., Student Support Services, Human Resource Services, Legal Services, Communications) to ensure compliance with state laws, district policies, and administrative guidelines in resolving issues
Maintain accurate documentation related to grievances, complaints, and resolution processes
Provide regular updates to Assistant Superintendents regarding campus needs, climate trends, and urgent concerns
Perform all other duties as assigned


WORKING CONDITIONS:



Physical Demands / Environmental Factors:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: physical mobility, standing, prolonged sitting, and occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling. This position requires travel within the district and occasional statewide travel.

Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS:



Required:

Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in education, educational leadership, or a related field
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in campus leadership, student services, or central administration
Texas Mid-Management or Principal Certification
Preferred:

Doctorate Degree in Education or a related field
Bilingual (Spanish/English)
Experience in large, diverse urban or suburban school districts
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills
Ability to manage parent, student, and staff concerns in a respectful, timely, and equitable manner
Working knowledge of grievance procedures, student discipline practices, and district operational protocols
Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate with diverse audiences
Familiarity with TEA regulations, Board policies, and administrative procedures
Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and maintain professionalism under pressure
Collaborative leadership style with the ability to coordinate across departments and campuses
Ability to track and report on trends related to school climate, stakeholder concerns, and operational issues
Strong organizational and time-management skills
