Description/Notes: PRIMARY FUNCTION This coordinator will focus on developing and leading Advanced Academics in Cleveland ISD, starting from the ground up, while also supporting CCMR (College, Career, and Military Readiness). The role will design and implement advanced academic opportunities such as AP, Dual Credit, and Honors programs, while ensuring equity and access for all students. In addition, the coordinator will support CCMR by monitoring indicators such as SAT/ACT, TSI, industry-based certifications, and enlistment pathways. This position will also provide training and support for teachers, counselors, and campus leaders, build partnerships with higher education and industry, and create student support systems to strengthen readiness. Through program design, professional learning, targeted student interventions, student advising, and data-driven accountability, the coordinator will build a strong foundation that expands opportunities and ensures students are prepared for success in college, career, or military pathways.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification: Master’s degree from an accredited university. Valid Texas Teacher Certificate. Valid Texas Principal or Mid-Management Administrator or School Counselor Certificate (preferred).

Special Knowledge/Skills: Proven experience in curriculum development, program management, or instructional coaching. Demonstrated knowledge of advanced academic programs such as AP, Dual Credit, and Honors. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills and strong problem-solving skills

Experience: Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience in an advanced academic or secondary setting.

EVALUATION
Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provision of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Oversee the coordination of Advanced Academic programs, including Dual Credit, Honors, Advanced Placement (AP), College Prep courses, and Credit by Examination (CBE) options.
2. Serve as the primary district liaison for all university, college, and external partners regarding Dual Credit and other advanced academic partnerships.
3. Develop and manage the process for Credit by Exam to ensure accurate placement and awarding of credit according to district and TEA guidelines.
4. Collaborate with campus counselors to ensure students are properly identified, advised, and enrolled in appropriate advanced coursework to meet graduation requirements and CCMR indicators.
5. Oversee the coordination of all test preparation services, including SAT, ACT, TSIA2 , and Pre-SAT initiatives.
6. Develop and implement a cohesive, district-wide plan for test preparation across all secondary grade levels.
7. Monitor and analyze student performance data on all college entrance and readiness exams to identify trends and inform programmatic changes.
8. Work in close collaboration with the CCMR coordinator to align advanced academic programs with district and state CCMR goals.
9. Track student data related to college readiness, including AP exam scores, Dual Credit course completion, and college acceptance rates.
10. Analyze CCMR data to identify district-and campus-level trends in student preparedness, providing directors with insights to inform instructional and counseling program improvements.
11. Plan, coordinate, and facilitate professional development for teachers and staff on effective instructional strategies for advanced learners, curriculum design for Honors/AP/Dual Credit, and implementation of College Prep standards.
12. Develop resource materials and support documents for teachers and counselors regarding program policies, curriculum, and best practices.
13. Ensure strict compliance with all College Board, TEA, and Dual Credit partner requirements for course syllabi, teacher credentials, and program operation.
14. Develop and implement procedures for placement, and exit of students across all advanced academic programs.
15. Adhere to professional and ethical standards, in accordance with generally accepted community standards and the Texas Education Agency Code of Ethics.
16. Develop needed professional skills appropriate to job performance.

24. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and the Superintendent of Schools.
