EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors Degree

Masters Degree preferred
Six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience in campus or athletic administration preferred

Current certifications in Athlete Protection, Safety Training and CPR certification or obtain within 6 months of hire



High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.



PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY:
To develop, manage, and support comprehensive aquatic programs across the District that promote student safety, athletic excellence, community engagement, and facility stewardship. Responsible for the organization and oversight of the District’s aquatic programs and facilities, including the Josh Davis Natatorium, Bill Walker Pool, and North East Sports Park Pool. Provide leadership and guidance to principals, athletic coordinators, coaches, and aquatics staff regarding District, School Board Policies, University Interscholastic League (UIL), and athletic department procedures. Ensures compliance with UIL and USA Swimming regulations while supporting the overall goals of NEISD Athletics.




ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides personnel leadership, guidance, and supervision ensuring compliance with District, UIL, and USA Swimming policies.
2. Directs, supervises, and manages the Josh Davis Natatorium, Bill Walker Pool, and the North East Sports Park Pool.
3. Oversees facility operations at the District aquatic venues, including event preparation, custodial/maintenance coordination, inspections, and collaboration with Central Office Facility Maintenance and Support to ensure safety and proper upkeep.
4. Plans, staff, and coordinates aquatic events, competitions, and practices, including North East Aquatic Team (NEAT) activities, swim meets, pool rentals, Community Education classes, recreational programs, and water fitness offerings.
5. Serves as the budget manager for local and enterprise funds.
6. Assist the Executive Director for Athletics in managing Blossom Athletic Center, North East Aquatic Center, and other athletic events or initiatives as assigned.
7. Collaborates with campus administrations and athletic staff to make decisions regarding athletic management and program direction.
8. Research and evaluate proposed program or facility changes, gathers and analyzes data, and makes recommendations to the Executive Director for Athletics.
9. Supports alignment of aquatics programs with the District’s curricula and promotes athletics as an integral part of the instructional process.
10.Engages in community activities and maintains involvement in professional organizations to promote aquatics programs.
11.Designs, procures, and distributes awards for championship contests held at the NEISD aquatic facilities.
12.Manages and approves appropriate use of supplemental pay for employees.
13.Prepares and maintains documentation for officials’ fee receipts and other required financial records.
14.Maintains confidentiality of information.
15.Requires a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and travel for competitions.
16.Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Extensive knowledge of athletic and aquatics program operations, including UIL and USA Swimming policies, with the ability to maintain current knowledge of all athletic rules and regulations
• Strong organizational, communication, management, public relations, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to assess and resolve complex and escalated issues involving parents, coaches, or students
• Ability to collaborate and negotiate effectively with athletic directors and coaches from other school districts regarding schedules and championship events
• Valid Texas Driver’s License with driving record that meets the requirements of the District

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is occasionally required to drive personal vehicle in the performance of assigned tasks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
