| Description/Notes: | We are seeking a compassionate and student-focused Middle School Life Skills Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support to students with significant cognitive and developmental disabilities. This position focuses on building functional academic skills, daily living skills, social skills, and pre-vocational abilities in a highly structured and supportive classroom environment. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver individualized instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals Teach functional academics, self-care, communication, social skills, and daily living activities Create a structured, supportive classroom environment that promotes independence Collaborate with related service providers (e.g., speech, OT, PT), support staff, and families Implement behavior intervention plans and provide consistent classroom management Monitor and document student progress and participate in ARD/IEP meetings |
| Qualifications: | Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred) Valid [State] teaching certification in Special Education (EC–12 or appropriate level) Experience working with students with significant disabilities preferred Strong knowledge of life skills curriculum, assistive technology, and differentiated instruction Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills |
