Campus Description: The Chief of Police oversees the leadership, direction, and management of the Royal ISD Police Department. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of students, staff, and district property by developing and enforcing policies, procedures, and initiatives that comply with federal, state, and local laws. The Chief of Police collaborates with district administration, local law enforcement agencies, and community stakeholders to plan, coordinate, implement, and manage the district’s safety protocols and security systems. Additionally, this position oversees the district’s safety and security programs and coordinates the emergency operations response plan, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and ordinances.

Training and ability to subdue offenders, including use of firearms and handcuffs

Must be able to respond to emergencies on a 24/7 basis as needed
Qualifications: Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, public administration, or a related field (Preferred)
Texas Peace Officer license issued by Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE)
Clear and valid Texas driver’s license
Successful completion of training required by Texas Education Code (TEC) §96.641 and Texas Occupation Code §1701.2633

Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of law enforcement experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role
Experience in school-based law enforcement or community policing is highly preferred
Salary Range: Salary: $76,695 to $109,232 Per Year
