| Description/Notes: | Summary Childress High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate High School English Teacher to join our dynamic educational team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop a love for literature, writing, and critical thinking. This full-time position requires a commitment to fostering an engaging and inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic excellence and personal growth. Responsibilities - Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum objectives. - Teach a variety of English language arts courses, including literature, composition, and creative writing. - Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support their learning. - Foster a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and collaboration. - Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all students, including those with varying learning styles and abilities. - Encourage students to develop critical thinking and analytical skills through discussions, debates, and written assignments. - Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the English curriculum and participate in school-wide initiatives. - Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and classroom activities. - Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational practices and trends in English instruction. - Supervise and mentor students in extracurricular activities, such as writing clubs or literary competitions, as needed. Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field. - Valid teaching certification in English for secondary education. - Proven experience teaching high school English, with a strong understanding of curriculum development and assessment strategies. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students. - Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. - Proficiency in using technology and digital resources to enhance instruction and student learning. - Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students. - Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the community to promote student success. |
