Primary Purpose

Supports instructional staff and school leaders in the effective use of technology and training to facilitate instruction in alignment of the district's education initiatives for the purpose of providing excellent and engaging learning environments to students. Management of Technology Infrastructure.



Qualifications

Education/Certification

Bachelor’s Degree, from an accredited college or university, preferably in Information Technology



CompTIA A+/Network+/Security+ or equivalent certification(s)



Special Knowledge/Skills

Windows, iOS, ChromeOS, and Windows Server Expertise.
Office 365 Admin Console, Active Directory/Entra ID, Microsoft Intune, Google Workspace, and Meraki Console proficiency.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Experience integrating technology into the curriculum.
Depth of knowledge in current educational technologies the ability and willingness to quickly acquire new knowledge regarding technology.
Knowledge of federal, state and local laws pertaining to school technology use and integration.


Experience

Three to Five years of experience in IT
Three to Five years of Management experience


Major Responsibilities and Duties

Promote, model, support and serve as a resource for the integration of technology and curricula.
Collaborate with campus instructional leadership teams for technology-enhanced learning experiences.
Recommend information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes, identifying problems, and anticipating organizational requirements.
Select, train, evaluate, direct, and supervise the work of subordinate personnel.
Design, plan, analyze, deploy, test, and support the districts network infrastructure including servers, firewalls, routers, switches, cellular data connections, VPN connections, and network management software
Demonstrates proficient levels of technology applications (i.e. Windows, Office 365, Active Directory).
Troubleshoot instructional-related IT issues for teachers, classroom aides, and school leaders.
Direct IT Technicians, Manage IT Help Desk system, and delegate tasks accordingly.
Conducts ongoing literature reviews to identify software and application solutions that ensure that the campus supports current technology learning.
Select, design, deploy, manage, test, and support VOIP telephone system, and cellular data devices.
Manage all Technology Planning/IT Infrastructure projects for district.
Prepare and administer the IT budget and support contracts, review Technology Billing and Purchasing.
Administer and plan E-rate budget, with the assistance of a consultant.
Propose new methods, trends, applications, or emerging technologies to the C.E.O. for testing and piloting to ensure high quality initiatives for the benefit of district learners.
Collaborates and solves problems by working with others to clarify or interpret complex information/policies and provides initial screening. Interactions are typically with instructional staff, campus supervisors, and senior level professional staff.
Assists with diagnosis and repair of computer equipment and peripherals as needed.
Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, and carrying.
Perform other duties as assigned.

ABOUT BOB HOPE SCHOOL
Bob Hope School is a growing open-enrollment public charter school (non-profit) providing parents a choice in their child's education. Bob Hope Elementary is a Montessori / Dual-Language campus. Instruction is conducted in a two-way immersion program, where teachers fluent in English teach ELA and those fluent in Spanish teach SLA and are supported by teacher aides with a strong command of both languages. Campuses are located in Port Arthur, Beaumont, and Baytown, Texas. The Hughen Center, Inc. is the charter holder of Bob Hope School.
