Description/Notes: Provide leadership, oversight and direct the administration, coordination, and evaluation of the school districts educational program at the secondary level (Grades 6-12). Provide strategic direction for curriculum, instruction, assessment, school improvement initiatives, and professional development of principals and professional staff. The primary goal shall be developing, achieving, and maintaining the best possible educational programs and services. Plan, organize, and direct the overall functioning and management of the secondary schools and programs, and collaborate and provide support to secondary principals and other secondary staff in meeting identified programmatic and instructional goals of the district.
Qualifications: Education/Certification:
Masters degree from an accredited college or university required; Doctorate preferred
Principal certificate required; Superintendent preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to lead team in creating and sustaining equitable classrooms, schools, and institutional culture
Ability to set high expectations for self and others; set and monitor progress toward goals; and utilize and offer effective feedback for continuous improvement.
Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to schedule and attend a number of activities, meetings, and/or events during and after normal work hours.
Thorough knowledge of school law, school finance, school curriculum, and instruction
Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data
Ability to manage budget and personnel
Strong organizational skills
Experience:
Prior Assistant/Superintendent experience preferred
Minimum 5 years secondary education principal experience required
Proven ability leading effective teams, individuals, managing organization change and initiating key innovations required.
Salary Range: Salary Range $532.89 - $735.89 / Per Day
