Position Summary:


This position serves as the homeroom teacher and engagement specialist for assigned students. You will be responsible for monitoring holistic data for assigned students, including academic performance and engagement for students enrolled in our virtual school, and supporting students who are struggling through the collaborative creation of student academic and behavioral goals and strategies for improvement. Additionally, this position onboards new online students, acclimates families to the virtual classroom and environment by training them in the online school systems, and supports students with basic troubleshooting as needed. The Student Success Coach will hold regular virtual meetings with students to monitor progress toward goals and provide resources as needed. This position serves as the home base support for students, assists with state testing confirmation communication and helps with general school registrar duties during peak enrollment times.

Bachelor's Degree required
Bilingual (preferred)

Experience:

Work experience with students preferred

Possesses listening skills where one seeks to understand other viewpoints
Adjusts quickly to changing priorities or conditions
Organizes and manages time wisely
Speaks and writes clearly and articulately in all forms of communication including email
Follows through with verbal and written agreements with students, colleagues, and administration
Proficient computer skills and comfort with technology are necessary as the virtual classroom requires the integration of seamlessly transitioning from multiple platforms and programs
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
Performs all other duties as assigned

Responsibilities and Duties:

Support and train new students on how to be successful in an online school.
Serve as the first line of support for student concerns, including supporting students in accessing online coursework, with overcoming academic struggles, and supporting students who need assistance accessing academic supports.
Monitor students academic performance and engagement for students on caseload.
Guide students who are struggling in setting individual goals and developing improvement plans.
Regularly call students and parents to discuss student overall academic performance, overall attendance, and growth toward achieving academic improvement goals.
Meet regularly with students one-on-one, in online classrooms, via instant messaging or via phone to discuss growth toward goals on improvement plans.
Plan and host weekly homeroom meetings for students.
Maintain documentation of student performance on improvement plans and make recommendations to Campus Director and Core subject teachers for next steps.
Communicate regularly with faculty and staff, parents and students.
Provide essential individualized communications to students and parents such as for state testing, graduation, etc.
Serve as liaison with state testing team for assigned students.
Attend team meetings as needed.
Provide educational guidance and assistance for students.

This is a remote, work from home position.
