About the Position

We are looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to work in a fast-paced Risk Management department as a reporting analyst to leverage tools and technologies, such as SAP Business Objects, SQL, R, Python, Power BI, and ArcGIS, blended with internal and external data sets, along with analytical thinking to assist in driving forward key data projects.
Qualifications: Responsibilities

Compile data from multiple sources to complete various analyses to provide meaningful information about the Fund or its members.
Execute on a variety of established monthly reporting tasks, both internal and Fund member-facing.
Use established tools and methodologies to monitor and report on Fund performance in all areas (claims, financial, underwriting, etc.)
Complete assigned data validation tasks to ensure systems and programs transferring data are accurate.
Work on cross-divisional teams to identify and resolve data recording or transmission errors and ensure data accuracy and quality.
Work with Risk Management Services managers and staff to complete data and information analysis projects to meet division or department needs.
Draft summary reports and presentations for managers or others as directed.
Develop and maintain a knowledge base of performance measures, best practices, and other items that measure Fund financial or operational performance.
Develop and maintain a practical knowledge of public-entity risk pooling practices, risk management, claims handling practices, insurance-related metrics and other operational aspects of Risk Management Services.

Requirements

Bachelors degree from accredited university or college in math, business, statistics, actuarial math, or related field.
One to two years of cumulative experience in a data analyst position, or one to two years of related experience of turning data into insights and recommendations.
Ability to demonstrate advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and/or Access.
Demonstrated experience of manipulating data sets using SQL or equivalent programming language.
Ability to explain basic concepts about relational databases.
Knowledge of reporting platforms like Business Objects, Tableau or Power BI, preferred.
Knowledge of programming languages like VBA, R, or Python, preferred.
Knowledge of ETL and tools for data transformation like Informatica, preferred.
Experience or interest in education, risk pooling, or insurance environment preferred.
