Description/Notes: Primary Purpose:
Provide research-based professional learning, instructional coaching, and technical assistance to identified TEA Reading Academy cohorts

Specific Responsibilities and Duties for the Reading Academy Biliteracy Cohort Leader:
Travel to LEAs in order to provide support, coaching, and leadership through the implementation of TEA Reading Academies
Provide learning opportunities through a variety of learning modes, including but not limited to, blended learning, face-to-face, and web-based technologies
Provide technical support, materials, and dissemination of program information
Communicate effectively with LEAs, colleagues, and state agencies
Demonstrate effective coaching, mentoring, and conferencing skills
Coordinate, organize, and evaluate literacy artifacts submitted by participants
Organize and coordinate professional development sessions and coaching sessions in various LEAs
Qualifications: Education/Certifications:
Current Bilingual Teaching Certificate
Meet the Biliteracy Cohort Leader screening requirements determined by TEA

Experience as a K-3 Bilingual Reading teacher for three or more years across career (special education or general education)
Experience with designing, leading, and providing professional learning in the area of literacy
Strong understanding of effective biliteracy teaching practices
Experience with coaching effective biliteracy teaching practices
Experience working with at-risk students
Salary Range: $60,987-$84,718 (Estimate based on experience and skill set.)
Benefits: Work 36 hour weeks, up to 21 holidays, 10 earned personal leave days, 10 vacation days and pay $500.00/month to contribute to health insurance.
