Description/Notes: Primary Purpose:

Provide direction and leadership in support student engagement and internal district operations and services

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Masters degree from an accredited college or university (required)
Superintendent Certification (preferred)
Principal Certification (preferred)
Teachers certification (preferred)

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
Excellent knowledge and understanding of all facets of public school operations
Knowledge and understanding of the change process, organizational development, conflict resolution and facilitation skills
Excellent organizational, leadership, and consensus building skills

Experience:
Advanced experience in public school educational leadership and operations/ or other equivalent leadership experience
Campus principal and/or administrator experience (preferred)

Major Responsibilities and duties:
Ensure that all district operations are within district policies and administrative guidelines
Organize and evaluate staff as appropriate to ensure effectiveness of the department
Oversee the operational departments of student transportation, child nutrition, safety & security, records management, including budgets and staffing
Oversee the instructional areas of athletics, fine arts, health & physical education, cheerleading, drill team, dance, including budgets and staffing
Oversight and coordination of IMA and textbook committees
Oversee and coordinate booster club guidelines and training
Oversee all student travel including overnight travel
Oversee the coordination of high school graduation and other student events
Oversee rules and guidelines as provided by the University Interscholastic League (UIL) regarding UIL competitions and events

Oversee student club/organizations and requests for new organizations

Oversee all student travel and student overnight travel

Oversee and coordinate booster club guidelines and training

Be informed of developments in state, federal and local laws and public policy affecting education and make recommendations and implement changes as needed

Follow-up on district level complaints that may come to the attention of the Assistant Superintendent through established appeal processes

Recommend to Superintendent specific policies, procedures, plans, programs, systems for attaining district operating objectives

Provide leadership related to district operations, support services, and student programming

Follow all rules, regulations, and policies of Plano ISD and follow directives from superiors

Follow attendance policy as assigned by supervisor

Perform other functions that may be assigned by the Administration and/or supervisor


Supervisory Responsibilities:
Executive Director of Safety and Security, Legal Specialist/Administrative Assistant, District Athletic Director, Director of Fine Arts, Director of Transportation, Director of Food & Nutritional Services, Services, Coordinator of Health & Physical Education, Coordinator of Cheerleading/Drill Team/Dance, Course Proposals & Textbook Adoptions, and others as assigned.

Salary Range: Minimum Salary: $153,353.94 / Days: 246 (salary commensurate with experience)
