Description/Notes: | Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Superintendent-Teaching and Learning. The appointee will report directly to the Deputy Superintendent and will be responsible for the tasks of developing, achieving and maintaining the best possible educational programs and services and will be administratively responsible for the instructional programs of the Mesquite ISD |
Qualifications: | Qualifications: The Assistant Superintendent will have at least a Master's degree, Mid-management/Principal certification and prior experience as a campus principal. Residence in Mesquite required. Preference will be given to applicants who: - demonstrate the ability to plan an effective research based instructional program while promoting efficient use of all resources - successful experience as a campus principal - possess a knowledge and understanding of developing and implementing district-wide policies, procedures and programs - exhibits an understanding of gathering data for information and reports to the School Board - has the ability to oversee TEA and UIL activities through the appropriate administrative channels - exhibit a knowledge and understanding of evaluating the effectiveness of district instructional programs and recommending changes and improvements for these programs - the ability to work with community agencies, parent groups, etc. to help interpret the school program - possess an understanding of all aspects of reporting to State and Federal agencies upon request - demonstrate an understanding of integration features of AYO into the curriculum - possess strong communication skills (written and oral) including the ability to convey information to a variety of audiences - possess an understanding of the change process, organizational development, conflict resolution and facilitation skills - demonstrate effective public relations and interpersonal skills Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate. |
Salary Range: | Administrative 10; $180,400 - $245,200; 226 day contract |
