Description/Notes: | Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Superintendent-Leadership and Strategic Initiatives. The appointee will report directly to the Deputy Superintendent and will be responsible for providing leadership in developing, achieving and maintaining strategic initiatives of the district as well as serving as a liaison to district and community boards and representatives. In addition, the Assistant Superintendent of Leadership and Strategic Initiatives will provide leadership in developing, achieving and maintaining the best possible educational programs and services in Mesquite ISD. |
Qualifications: | Qualifications: The Assistant Superintendent will have at least a Master's degree and a Mid-management/Principal certification. Residence in Mesquite required. Preference will be given to applicants who: - demonstrate the ability to understand and implement policies and procedures of the MISD and have knowledge and understanding of the use of data to facilitate informed decisions for school improvement - possess knowledge of and proficiency in using technology to facilitate administrative duties and responsibilities - has successful experience as a central office administrator and/or campus principal - can work collaboratively with multiple and diverse constituencies and departments - exhibits an understanding of gathering data for information and preparing reports for the School Board - has the ability to lead the preparation and comprehensive deployment of the District's Strategic Plan - exhibit knowledge and understanding of the development of new projects by administration and carrying out special projects at the direction of the Deputy Superintendent - can coordinate projects concerning new innovative spaces and maintain the district's priority to further communicate the importance of the MISD Read, Play, Talk (RPT) and Community Education Programs - has the ability to serve as a liaison to various district and community organizations including the PTA, RPT Board, MEA, Legislative Advisory Board, Facility Representatives and Mesquite Chamber of Commerce - has the ability to coordinate improvement and efficiency initiatives and leadership development across the district - possess strong communication skills (written and oral) including the ability to convey information to a variety of audiences - possess an understanding of the change process, organization development, conflict resolution and facilitation skills - demonstrate effective public relations and interpersonal skills Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate. |
Salary Range: | Administrative 10; $180,400 - $245,200; 226 day contract |
