Campus Description: Elgin ISD is a fast growth District of Innovation located in Elgin, TX, just 19 miles East of Austin on Hwy 290. We are a 5A district with 5 elementaries, 1 intermediate school, 1 middle school, 1 high school and 1 alternative high school.

We offer students a progressive, comprehensive academic and extracurricular experience including a well-developed CTE program and Early College High School (in partnership with Austin Community College). All classrooms and facilities in Elgin ISD include outstanding technology providing a 21st Century Learning environment and we are in our 5th year of our 1:1 Initiative equipping students in middle and high schools with personal devices and Google Classroom.

Description/Notes: Primary Purpose
Provide executive leadership for the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of grades 6-12 curriculum, instruction, assessment, professional learning, and assigned academic programs. Ensure that secondary schools deliver rigorous, relevant, and equitable instruction that prepares all students for middle school success, high school graduation, postsecondary education, meaning ful employment, military readiness, and informed citizenship
Qualifications: Qualifications:
Education and Certification
● Master’s degree in educational administration, curriculum and instruction, or related field from an accredited institution
● Valid Texas Superintendent Certificate preferred
● Valid Texas principal, mid-management, or other appropriate administrator certification required ● Doctorate preferred Experience
● Minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching experience, preferably at the middle school or high school level
● Minimum of five years of successful campus and/or central-office leadership experience ● Secondary principal experience strongly preferred
● Demonstrated success in secondary curriculum, assessment, accountability, graduation planning, CCMR, college and career readiness, and school improvement
● Successful school improvement experience preferred
Special Knowledge and Skills
1. Knowledge of secondary TEKS, graduation requirements, state assessment requirements, accountability systems, and school improvement processes.
2. Knowledge of secondary instructional practices, adolescent learning, content-area literacy, intervention, acceleration, and advanced academic programming
3. Knowledge of college, career, and military readiness indicators, CTE pathways, dual credit, advanced coursework, and postsecondary planning
4. Ability to analyze student performance, graduation, attendance, discipline, course-completion, and readiness data
5. Ability to lead curriculum implementation, program evaluation, professional learning, and change management
6. Ability to develop, manage, and monitor budgets, grants, staffing, instructional materials, and partnerships
7. Strong communication, organization, leadership, and interpersonal skills
