Campus Description: Elgin ISD is a fast growth District of Innovation located in Elgin, TX, just 19 miles East of Austin on Hwy 290. We are a 5A district with 5 elementaries, 1 intermediate school, 1 middle school, 1 high school and 1 alternative high school.

We offer students a progressive, comprehensive academic and extracurricular experience including a well-developed CTE program and Early College High School (in partnership with Austin Community College). All classrooms and facilities in Elgin ISD include outstanding technology providing a 21st Century Learning environment and we are in our 5th year of our 1:1 Initiative equipping students in middle and high schools with personal devices and Google Classroom.

Description/Notes: Primary Purpose:
Perform professional psychological work in assessment, behavior management, and counseling for students with emotional disabilities, learning disabilities, and behavioral problems. Assess the psychological and psycho-educational needs of students referred to special education services.
Qualifications: Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Master’s degree in psychology from accredited college or university
Valid Texas license as a licensed specialist in school psychology (LSSP) or Trainee Status Letter issued by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists**

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of procedures for assessing achievement and intellectual, emotional, and behavioral functioning for educational purposes
Knowledge of prevention and intervention strategies, including behavior management interventions
Knowledge of psycho-social development
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Experience:
One year experience providing psychology services in an educational setting
