| Description/Notes: | Lead, facilitate, and support areas of second language in the areas of ESL and LOTE to align with Georgetown ISD beliefs. Ensure that actions and behaviors support the mission of GISD and advance the department towards the vision of being home of the most inspired students, served by the most empowered leaders. Align systems and processes to support the GISD Strategic Framework. |
| Qualifications: | Education/Certification/Experience: Master’s degree from accredited university in educational administration, certification with Bilingual/ESL endorsement is preferred. Texas Principal Certificate preferred. T-TESS appraisal training and certification preferred. Three years teaching experience in Bilingual Education/ESL/LOTE classroom required. Campus Administrative experience preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: o Knowledge of GISD Strategic Framework o Working knowledge of the use of curriculum resources, tools, and effective instruction practices o Knowledge of Federal and State laws pertaining to language acquisition classes (Bilingual/ ESL/LOTE) o Understanding of individual needs of multilingual learners o Demonstrate proficiency in English and Spanish both oral and written o Skilled in project management o Ability to align leadership behaviors and actions to District Vision, Mission, and Beliefs o Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all stakeholders o Ability to implement and monitor policies and procedures o Ability to analyze, interpret, and utilize data for effective program assessment o Ability to provide leadership in the following areas; organization and management, budgeting, technology, instructional practices, assessment systems, interventions, etc. o Ability to organize and complete tasks in an efficient timely manner o Excellent professional organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills |
