Description/Notes: The Strategic Compensation Coordinator provides strategic leadership and expert advisement to school districts in the development, implementation, and sustainability of Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA)–funded compensation systems. This role supports districts in designing performance-based compensation models aligned with TEA requirements, House Bill 2 (Enhanced TIA), and district talent priorities, with a focus on recruitment, retention, and equitable educator placement. Serving as a key liaison between ESC Region 7, district leadership teams, and the Texas Education Agency, the coordinator promotes fiscally responsible, data-informed, and scalable compensation practices while strengthening district and regional capacity to implement TIA with long-term impact.
Qualifications: Minimum Education/Training:

Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
Master’s in Education, Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)

Experience:

Minimum of three years in a school district business office or central administration (required)
Experience in school finance leadership, human capital systems, TIA implementation and data analysis (preferred)



-Demonstrated expertise in the design and implementation of strategic compensation systems, including performance-based salary schedules, stipend models, and hybrid compensation structures

-Deep knowledge of Texas public school finance, including the Foundation School Program (FSP), Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) funding, and House Bill 2 (Enhanced TIA) requirements

-Thorough understanding of TEA statutory requirements, timelines, data validation processes, and annual program submission expectations related to TIA

-Ability to analyze, model, and project compensation and funding scenarios to support fiscally sustainable, long-term district planning

-Expertise in developing, reviewing, and advising on TIA spending and distribution plans aligned with district goals, educator effectiveness measures, and high-needs campus strategies

-Strong analytical, financial modeling, and data interpretation skills to inform strategic decision-making and continuous improvement

-Knowledge of Texas school district budgeting, accounting, auditing, and annual financial planning processes

-Ability to provide strategic advisement and technical assistance to district leadership teams, including superintendents, CFOs, business offices, human resources, and instructional leaders

-Experience supporting districts in transitioning from traditional seniority-based compensation structures to performance-based systems

-Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related tools used for financial analysis, planning, and project management

-Strong communication and facilitation skills, including the ability to lead professional learning and clearly convey complex financial, policy, and compensation concepts to diverse audiences.

Salary Range: $92,119 to $122,869 Per Year
