| Description/Notes: | POSITION: Electrical Foreman Exempt Status: Non-Exempt No. of Days: According to district approved calendar Department: School Plant Services Reports To: Facilities Control & Compliance Supervisor Education: - High School Diploma or GED - Valid Texas Driver's License - Maintain a Master Electrician’s License from the State of Texas Experience - Previous on the job experience and knowledge of Electrical System repair and maintenance - Five years prior experience as a licensed Electrician POSITION FUNCTION/PURPOSE THE DAILY OVERSIGHT OF PERSONNEL AND WORK ORDERS FOR REPAIRS MAINTENANCE AND UPGRADES TO THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS, CIRCUITS AND EQUIPMENT AT ALL DISTRICT FACILITIES. CONDUCT THE DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS OF THE DISTRICTS ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT, ELECTRICIANS, CONSTRUCTION AND CONTRACTED SERVICES FOR ALL ELECTRICAL PROJECTS. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Work with the F.C.C.S Supervisor in scheduling repairs and modifications of all district electrical systems and equipment 2. Estimate and secure materials for the Electrical Department 3. Maintain records and schedules of jobs including work orders and electrical construction projects 4. Communicate with administrators in order to coordinate schedules for the least amount of disturbance 5. Provide skills and procedures required to develop and maintain repairs on power circuits, electrical systems and equipment. 6. Provide the necessary skills needed to adequately assist other departments on various district construction or repair projects 7. Provide the necessary skills to adequately trouble shoot maintenance problems which occur w with electrical circuits and systems and coordinate work by contracted services and utility providers 8. Have the ability to follow instructions and be flexible to changes in work assignments 9. Monitor quality and quantity of work done by the electricians and the department 10. Keep F.C.C.S. Supervisor informed on all projects with work order status 11. Maintain a records and documentation for quotes and estimates for all district electrical projects 12. Must be willing to follow instructions and be flexible to changes in work assignments 13. Follow and enforce the rules and regulations of the School Plant Services Department and the Midland Independent School District 14. Once assigned, coordinate and inspect the design, installation and quality control of contracted services for all electrical installations for the district 15. Provide preliminary evaluations comments for all electrical staff to the F.C.C.S Supervisor for consideration of employee performance appraisals 16. Maintain and process electrical work orders, invoices, budget schedules and other production records for the electrical department 17. As assigned, shall serve on the rotating 24-hour emergency on-call beeper service for School Plant Services 18. Perform other duties as assigned by the F.C.C.S. Supervisor and the Executive Director of School Plant services. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Minimum Certification/Education: Special Knowledge/Skills: 1. Extensive knowledge of Electrical circuits, system and equipment repairs and repair techniques including m maintenance and new construction 2. General knowledge and aptitude of building construction and electrical systems 3. Project a positive attitude among other district personnel and demonstrate a Willingness to work 4. Background in general and years of service in the electrical industry 5. Background in energy efficient electrical and mechanical systems 6. Be able to work independently, self-motivated 7. Proven ability to manage a group of people 8. The ability to plan and budget projects 9. Possess a working knowledge and ability to read construction documents, drawings and equipment schematic drawings 10. Operation of heavy equipment lifts, scaffolding, scissor lift etc. 6.
