| Description/Notes: | Provide leadership and oversight of the district’s accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and internal control functions. Direct the development, implementation, and monitoring of financial processes and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, GASB standards, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Support strategic financial planning by delivering accurate financial data, forecasts, and analyses to district leadership. |
| Qualifications: | Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field Special Knowledge/Skills: Extensive knowledge of governmental accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting Knowledge of GAAP and GASB standards and Texas Education Agency Financial Accounting Manual requirements Knowledge of audit procedures, payroll processes, and internal controls Strong analytical, organizational, and supervisory skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in financial management software, spreadsheets, and database applications Ability to interpret financial data and present clear recommendations to leadership Knowledge of Skyward financial systems preferred Experience: Three years in school business management or public organization |
