| Description/Notes: | Primary Purpose: The Coordinator of Virtual School Programs supports the implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of Brazosport ISD virtual learning programs. This position ensures program fidelity, instructional quality, and compliance with Texas Education Agency (TEA) requirements while coordinating services for students, staff, campuses, and families. Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university Preferred Master’s degree in Education Administration, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Technology, or related field preferred Valid Texas Teaching Certificate required Preferred Texas Principal or other appropriate Texas administrator certification Preferred Certified Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) appraiser Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices in both traditional and virtual learning environments Knowledge of online instructional design, virtual learning platforms, and effective digital instructional practices Ability to evaluate instructional programs and monitor instructional effectiveness in a virtual setting Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills Ability to manage budgets, personnel, and technology resources in accordance with district procedures Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and consistent communication with students, parents, staff, and community members Ability to analyze data and use performance metrics to support instructional decision-making and continuous improvement Knowledge of best practices to support student engagement, attendance, and behavior in a virtual learning environment Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience in a Texas school district Preferred five (5) years of successful classroom teaching Preferred campus leadership experience General Employee Requirements: Regular attendance and punctuality Support and align work with the mission, vision, and beliefs of the district Follow and support board policies in areas of related responsibility Ensure district resources are managed effectively to maximize resources for student learning Share in the development and implementation of district success plans. Job Specific Requirements Program Leadership & Operations: Coordinate and implement the district’s virtual learning program and manage day-to-day operations in alignment with district goals, approved initiatives, and procedures. Curriculum & Instruction: Coordinate the development, review, and implementation of digital, virtual, and blended courses to ensure alignment with district curriculum standards and instructional expectations. Staff Supervision & Support: Supervise, support, and evaluate assigned faculty and staff in accordance with district appraisal systems and expectations. Instructional Monitoring & Improvement: Monitor instructional effectiveness and student achievement through virtual walk-throughs, data reviews, and feedback to staff to support continuous improvement. Student Support & Virtual Culture: Support a positive virtual learning environment that promotes student engagement, attendance, and students’ social, emotional, and physical well-being. Compliance & Accountability: Monitor compliance with state, federal, and district requirements, including attendance reporting, gradebook practices, instructional minutes, data privacy, accessibility, and IEP/504 implementation. Technology & Platform Coordination: Oversee day-to-day use of the Learning Management System (LMS) and virtual learning platforms in collaboration with Technology and instructional departments; serve as a resource for staff on digital tools (e.g., Canvas, Seesaw, Microsoft Teams). Data Management & Reporting: Analyze enrollment, attendance, engagement, and performance data; generate required reports; and use data to inform instructional decisions and program improvement. Enrollment, Scheduling & Program Support: Support virtual student enrollment, scheduling, and program logistics in coordination with campus and district staff. Collaboration & Communication: Maintain consistent communication with parents, students, and staff; collaborate with campus principals, curriculum staff, families, and community partners; and serve as a liaison to support professional learning and instructional alignment. Policy, Reports and Law Implement the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy in curriculum and instruction area Compile, maintain and present all physical and computerized reports, records and other documents required Budget Administer the virtual school program budget and ensure that programs are cost effective and funds are managed prudently Compile budgets and cost estimates based on documented program needs |
