| Description/Notes: | To provide leadership for improving instruction for students with disabilities through working collaboratively with professional staff, parents, and the community. Coordinators assist in the planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of special education programs and provide the necessary support to ensure compliance of all policies and procedures related to special education services. |
| Qualifications: | Education/Certification: Master’s degree Valid Texas teacher’s Special Education certification or licensure in a related field Valid Texas administrator certification preferred Special Knowledge/Skills: Understanding of the individual needs of students with disabilities Ability to communicate effectively with parents of students with disabilities Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data Ability to manage budget and personnel Ability to coordinate District functions (e.g., professional development) Ability to provide leadership, supervision, and a positive influence Experience: Minimum of three years of successful experience as a special education teacher or service provider |
