Description/Notes: CENTER RESPONSIBILITIES

Process all personal timekeeping, travel reporting and other paperwork in a timely manner

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES



Social Studies:

Provide training on effective teaching practices and assistance in the selection and use of instructional resources
Provide workshops in generating new or adapting social studies strategies for existing curriculum documents, such as social studies instructional units
Provide appropriate training and/or technical assistance on the Texas Knowledge and Skills for K-5 Social Studies, Civics, and any corresponding technology application TEKS in preparation for social studies state mandated assessments
Provide professional development for the integration of technology into the curriculum.
Provide technical assistance to districts
Analyze data and provide appropriate interventions, strategies, and enrichment as determined from STAAR/EOC and local assessment data for social studies.
Provide student seminars, when feasible
Develop and maintain partnerships with the Texas Education Agency (TEA), and other relevant professional organizations
Travel (meaning to drive one’s own vehicle) to and from LEA's to fulfill program and project specifications are required. Out of region travel may also be required.
Coordinate and deliver effective training, staff development, and technical assistance in areas pertinent to the program or project

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT



Up to 226 working days
This is an at-will employment position.
In the event of an economic slump, a reduction-in-force may be necessary. Employees will be notified in writing

Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years experience, Master’s Degree preferred
Valid Texas Teacher’s Certificate
Recommended by the ESC Executive Director
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Executive Director may find appropriate and acceptable
