Description/Notes: Primary Purpose:
The Director of School Improvement supports campuses in their continuous improvement efforts by developing high-quality improvement plans, overseeing curriculum implementation and instructional initiatives, and partnering with capacity builders to ensure accelerated academic growth for all students. This position will direct and manage the district’s English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR) curriculum, instruction, assessment, library services, and professional development programs. Ensure high-quality, aligned, and research-based literacy instruction that supports student achievement for all learners, including early literacy, advanced academics, and gifted students.

Special Knowledge/Skills:
An understanding of effective campus practices in instructional leadership, staff and student culture, well-supported teachers, high-quality curriculum, and data-driven instruction. 
Long-term solid planning and project management skills 
Experienced in leading and developing staff members toward strategic goals 
Highly organized; ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlines 
Ability to break down complex information into comprehensive parts, ask questions, synthesize and analyze 
Collaborative and results-oriented, especially within a team environment 
Excellent written and oral communication skills 
Knowledge of PK–12 Reading Language Arts (RLA) instruction and systems 
Experience with instructional coaching 
Experience with state compliance, including monitoring and documentation requirements 
Ability to oversee curriculum adoption processes and implementation 
Ability to oversee Texas Reading Academies, MTSS and G/T program requirements


Experience:
At least five years of experience as a campus or district leader 
Three or more years of central office experience

Master’s degree in education, curriculum and instruction, literacy, or related field
Texas Reading Academy Certification
