Description/Notes: | Primary Purpose: The Assistant Superintendent of Operations, through the Chief Operating Officer, leads oversight and execution of the district’s operational strategy. This role provides collaborative leadership and operational management across key departments, including Technology, Facilities, Construction, Transportation, Safety, and broader operational functions. Assists in the development, implementation, and monitoring of systems, policies, and initiatives that uphold excellence, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement in all non instructional support services. Major Responsibilities: 1. Lead district operational departments, including technology, facilities management, construction, transportation, and safety, ensuring daily alignment with strategic priorities and driving continuous improvement through comprehensive needs assessments. 2. Manage district Bond programs, overseeing planning, budgeting, and project implementation to ensure timely execution and strategic alignment; deliver outcome reporting and impact analysis directly to the COO and Board as needed. 3. Develop Technology Services operations, ensuring robust infrastructure, seamless hardware/software lifecycle management, data integrity, and strong cybersecurity protocols to meet evolving district needs. 4. Lead Student Services operations, managing transportation systems, maintenance, and custodial services while establishing and monitoring performance metrics that drive accountability and excellence. 5. Execute Facilities and Construction Services initiatives, managing maintenance, capital project execution, facility development, and security upgrades, while ensuring compliance with district standards, timelines, and fiscal parameters. 6. Lead Health & Safety operations, leading district-wide environmental health compliance, emergency readiness, public health response strategies, and strategic planning for district safety initiatives. 7. Assess demographic analysis and facilities planning efforts, leveraging enrollment trends and demographic data to drive informed short and long-range operational planning in collaboration with district leadership. 8. Manage departmental budgets across Technology, Facilities, Student Services, and Health & Safety, ensuring efficient allocation, regulatory compliance, and alignment with strategic operational goals. 9. Continuously assess and enhance operational systems and internal controls, driving innovation and efficiency in technology and facilities functions through proactive process improvement. 10. Oversee procurement and contracting processes for operational departments, ensuring transparency, competitive practices, and compliance in vendor selection, bid documentation, and contract management. 11. Direct coordination of construction program management, ensuring successful project execution, regulatory compliance, and rigorous financial oversight of capital projects. 12. Lead cross-functional operational teams, managing core district services such as custodial operations, transportation logistics, real estate, leasing, and centralized operations to ensure organizational readiness and seamless annual school start-up. 13. Strategically plan and manage long-term capital infrastructure initiatives, maintaining district facilities to optimize usage, ensure regulatory compliance. 14. Apprise the COO and senior leadership informed of key developments and operational status across departments, offering regular updates and insight. 15. Demonstrate professional integrity by adhering to the Educator Code of Conduct and all applicable policies, procedures, laws, and state/federal regulations. 16. Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer or Chief of Staff to support district operations and student success. |
Qualifications: | Minimum Qualifications (Experience/Education/Certification): Master’s degree in business administration or related field preferred; seven years progressively responsible experience Business Administration, Public Administration, Educational Leadership, or related field. |
Salary Range: | $143,110-$185,878 Salary Dependent Upon Experience |
