Description/Notes: Primary Purpose:

Provide leadership, coordination, and innovation to the fine arts programs of the District. Coordinate planning, development, implementation and
evaluation of curriculum and instructional practices within the assigned area(s) to ensure that all students meet and exceed the State Core
Curriculum Content Standards. Provide District view of program area and develop strategies for continuous improvement.


Major Responsibilities:

1. Provide educational leadership for fine arts programs, including focus on group and individual student performance; clear procedures with consistent and fair application of policies and regulations; vertical and horizontal articulation of skills and content sequence; effective and efficient utilization of resources; and coordination of services.
2. Model core organizational beliefs and values; communicate openly and effectively within and across teams; participate in cross-functional work.
3. Work cooperatively and collectively with principals, supervisors, department chairpersons, and teachers to ensure fine arts instructional programs and services are coordinated in the schools and are administered uniformly and equitably.
4. Ensure coordination of services and articulation between the secondary and elementary levels of the fine arts instructional programs by communicating frequently with supervisors, department chairpersons and principals.
5. Facilitate and support fine arts groups and programs involved in local, state, and national performances/competitions. Attend, be visible, and support at meetings and events.
6. Collect and analyze performance data for fine arts programs. Regularly evaluate program effectiveness and areas for improvement, implementing improvement processes in needed areas.
7. Develop, implement, supervise and evaluate practices that ensure that each student meets and exceeds standards consistent with the mission, philosophy, values, and instructional goals of the district and meeting all laws, codes, Board Policies and Regulations.
8. Monitor fine arts facilities and instructional spaces to ensure they support functional, healthy, clean, and safe instructional environments with proper attention to the visual, acoustic, and thermal environments.
9. Recommend staffing needs and assist with the recruitment and selection of new fine arts personnel.
10. Plan, recommend, and monitor district and campus fine arts budgets to align resource allocation with District goals and documented program needs.
11. Serve as liaison between the campuses, District, State, and relevant professional organizations. Attend required staff meetings, serve on appropriate committees, and represent the schools and District at community, State, and professional meetings.
12. Plan, facilitate, and support professional development opportunities for teachers and staff that are aligned to program priorities and supported by best practices.
13. Communicate with the administrative and supervisory staff regularly about the needs, successes, and general operation of assigned programs and services.
14. Establish and maintain a professional rapport that earns respect with staff, community, students, and parents.
15. Ensure that all PFISD, UIL, and State policies and procedures are communicated and followed by district and campus fine arts personnel.
16. Follow Educator Code of Conduct & all policies, procedures, laws and State/Federal regulations.
17. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Master’s Degree; Texas Teacher Certification; Five years successful teaching/leadership experience.
Salary Range: $117,760 - $159,321 (Based on the 2024-2025 school year compensation plan; salary range may change for the 2025-2026 school year)
