Campus Description: The Behavior Teacher will be primarily housed at Bandera MIddle School, but will support all campuses as needed.

Description/Notes: To work directly with students who require support for challenging behaviors. Provides interventions to targeted students to increase responsible behavior and reduce negative behavior including but not limited to small group and one-on-one interventions. The teacher will work in collaboration with the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to provide support, consultation, in-service, and advisory services to administrators, teachers, and other personnel  to build and implement a strong support mechanism for the student. Documents, maintains, analyzes and discusses data with the student, parents, and others to determine impact of the interventions.

Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas Elementary School Teaching Certificate with required endorsements for subject/level assigned
- Valid Texas Special Education Teaching Certificate with required endorsements

Additional Information/Requirements:
- Assist in developing, coordinating, implementing and monitoring individual behavior management plans for students with behavioral and/or mental health needs.
- Ability to provide assistance and support to staff in maintaining effective management of student behavior.
- Provide crisis management as needed.
- Participate as a member of the IEP team as appropriate.
- Conduct observations and complete behavior management reports.
- Develop and implement professional development in areas related to behavioral and mental health including, but not limited to: educationally related mental health services; functional analysis assessment and data collection, positive behavior intervention and support plans, and evidence-based practices.
- Attend meetings, in-services, school activities and meetings scheduled and/or requested.
- Assist in the implementation of state and federal laws to maintain district compliance.-  Maintain knowledge of current laws and regulations pertaining to individuals with exceptional needs.
- Conduct Functional Analysis Assessments (FAA) and collect behavior data as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Promote awareness, communication, and public relations between parents, community partner agencies regarding behavior and mental health services.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students and parents. 
- Develop, modify and prepare curricula to ensure high quality instruction based upon student abilities and skill levels
- Collaborate with students, parents, and other members of staff to develop IEPs through the ARD process for each assigned student
- Work cohesively with the Special Education and General Education Department staff in a self-contained team atmosphere when necessary
- Work cooperatively with administration and regular education classroom teachers to modify curricula, and assist Special Education students in the regular classroom
- Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
- Participate in staff development activities and improve job-related skills
- Supervise assigned teacher aides when applicable
- Other duties as assigned as per the needs of the campus/district
Salary Range: Competitive: As per the 2025-2026 Bandera ISD Teacher Salary Pay Scale
Benefits: The District contributes $350 per month towards the employee's TRS Health Insurance.

District will support teacher with additional behavior-based training to enhance skills and abilities
