| Description/Notes: | The Powell Law Group is excited to collaborate with Banquete ISD in their search for a new superintendent. Dr. Rick Alvarado will be conducting the search process. District and Community Information: Banquete Independent School District is one of the finest school districts located 27 miles west of Corpus Christi, Texas in Nueces County. Banquete ISD has all the advantages of being a small community yet enjoys the conveniences of being near a large city. Banquete ISD serves 821 students in three campuses and one DAEP building and has 76 teachers with a student: teacher ratio of 11:1. The Banquete ISD community believes in its schools as they are the heartbeat of the community, and they are fully supportive of the school’s mission and vision. The district is dedicated to providing a quality education for every student. Banquete ISD believes every child should have the opportunity to attain their full potential. In 2024, the district passed a $48.445 million bond to expand and improve the district by building a new Junior High School, expansion/renovation of the high school Career and Technical Education (CTE) facilities, reinvestment of systems, safety and security upgrades and athletic facility upgrades. The district has an overall A rating in TEA’s latest accountability report (2022) and earned a distinction designation and has a Superior Rating on the F.I.R.S.T. report. Banquete ISD has a dedicated faculty and staff focused on academics and positive student outcomes and high expectations for all extra and co-curricular activities. |
| Qualifications: | Banquete ISD is searching for a superintendent with the following qualifications: 1. A valid Texas Superintendent Certification with superintendent experience, preferred. 2. A strong knowledge of budgeting and public-school finance. Experience in a small to mid-size rural district with limited resources is a plus. 3. Demonstrated strong skills in educational leadership especially in respect to uniting staff, parents and community in the pursuit of student achievement. 4. Experience in the maintenance and upkeep of existing facilities and to be a good steward of taxpayer dollars. 5. A strong background in student performance success in all areas, including technology, college, career, and technical readiness programs who brings innovative ideas to further enhance the district and community. 6. Experience in developing strong and successful UIL academic, athletic, vocational, and fine arts programs. 7. Experience working with a diverse student population, including rural and economically disadvantaged students. 8. Integrity and exemplary moral character along with excellent people skills. Consistently visible throughout the district and in the community. Comfortable engaging and building relationships with both the staff and the community. 9. Experience developing, building community support, and passing bond projects is a plus. Experience with new construction is also preferred. 10. Skilled and willing to work with the local media. 11. Shown maturity, stability and the willingness to stay in a district for five or more years. 12. At least five years classroom teaching and curriculum experience and a successful tenure as a campus-level principal and/or central office administrator, preferred. 13. A strong desire to be a part of the community and the willingness to be present at extra-curricular and community events. Requirement to reside within the district. 14. A person who will hire, invest, and retain the best staff possible and develop leaders within the district. 15. High expectations for our students, faculty, and staff, and the desire and determination to take a great school and make it even better. 16. Experience in grant writing is preferred. |
| Salary Range: | Salary is commensurate with experience and success in a 3A district in ESC-2. |
