Description/Notes: | La Grange ISD is seeking a High School Assistant Band Director. A woodwind specialist is preferred, but all candidates will be considered. This position involves teaching beginner woodwind classes, leading one high school and one middle school concert band, and assisting with other concert bands and the marching band, as well as leading after-school sectionals. La Grange ISD has a strong tradition of success, earning UIL Sweepstakes for eight consecutive years. In 2024-2025, La Grange was the top district in our region represented in ATSSB All-Region Bands. The high school marching band debuted at the UIL State Marching Contest in 2024 and performed at Carnegie Hall in 2025. Our band program has enthusiastic, hard-working students. While strong classroom management is necessary, it is easier here than in many places. We have administrators and coaches who are allies, along with outstanding parent support and a dedicated booster club that plays a critical role in our activities. The Head Director is experienced in successfully mentoring young directors, so first-year applicants will be given serious consideration, provided they are coachable and professional. |
