About the Construction Department: At Round Rock ISD, our Construction Department is committed to creating functional and innovative spaces that prepare every student for success in the 21st century. We establish construction standards to integrate modern technology, implement efficient contracting systems to maximize resources, and deliver high-quality facilities to support student growth. By collaborating with local governments and leveraging joint-use resources, we optimize costs while strategically addressing the district’s space needs. About the Role: As the Project Director – Bond Construction, you will play a critical role in delivering transformative construction projects for the district. This role involves providing technical expertise, project management, and budgetary oversight to ensure the successful execution of small, medium, and large-scale construction projects. This is a bond funded position. Multiple openings available. Key Responsibilities: Manage construction projects of varying sizes, overseeing scope, budget, and schedules. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Coordinate project delivery using methods like CSP, CMAR, and design-build. Procure design services and construction contracts in collaboration with the Purchasing Department. Build relationships with district offices, administrators, and external authorities to achieve project goals. Foster teamwork and engage in professional development to enhance effectiveness. | Qualifications: | Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering (architectural, mechanical, or electrical), or construction management from an accredited institution. Minimum three years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. In-depth knowledge of local/state building codes and public school construction regulations. Strong skills in project management, communication, and collaboration. Proficiency in standard software applications (email, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations). |
