Description/Notes: Primary Purpose:
To serve as an executive leader of the Center under the direction of the Executive Director as part of the Executive Director’s Cabinet. Develop, implement, and evaluate programs in other areas of operations; plan and administer budgets; and supervise the evaluation of personnel as assigned by the Executive Director.

Responsibilities and Duties Common to all Deputy Executive Directors:
Serves on the Executive Director’s Cabinet to assist with decision making, planning, and coordination of the Center program.
Communicates openly and effectively and assists with the overall public relations of the Center.
Participate as an effective team member who contributes to center-wide strategic planning goals.
Assists the Cabinet with the development of the Center's budget; monitors the budget for assigned programs and recommends it to the Executive Director for approval.
Submits required reports in proper format and within timelines to the Executive Director, his/her designee, or appropriate entity.
Completes or approves applications and compliance reports for state and federal programs.
Possesses a complete understanding of the mission of the Center and the status of activities and programs.
Maintains a personal professional development plan by attending workshops, conferences and seminars as assigned or approved by the Executive Director or his/her designee.
Displays high levels of technology applications and remains current in the knowledge and application of current technology trends.
Informs the Executive Director, his/her designee, and Cabinet, as appropriate, of current programs/services, personnel matters, and client needs.
Recommends programs and services to the Cabinet.
Interacts positively and collaboratively with Service Area Directors and includes the Executive Director's Cabinet.
Recommends policies, administrative regulations, and operational procedures considered necessary for the progress of the Center.
Remains conversant with all educational legislation and guidelines related to the activities in the Center.
Delivers services directly to clients, when appropriate.
Conducts needs assessment, seeks client communication and input, analyzes the data gathered and applies cost/benefit analysis to direct the development of new services or the improvement of current services.
Coordinates the monitoring, measurement, evaluation, and review of systems in meeting stated service goals and client needs to improve overall services.
Coordinates the hiring process of new personnel, recommends staff development programs, and evaluates job performance with direct reports.
Attends TEA and other meetings, as necessary, to gather information related to program effectiveness and for dissemination to schools and districts.
Seeks unique funding sources for current and potential services including grants, partnerships, or applications.
Exhibit good judgment and decision-making.
Maintain a positive, customer-friendly, and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Director.
Qualifications: Education/Certifications:
Master’s degree required (prefer educational field)
Doctorate preferred (prefer educational field)
Texas Mid-Management/Principal and Superintendent Certification preferred

Experience:
Texas public school teaching experience and administrative experience at the central office level, or education service center/Texas Education Agency required

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of the administration processes used in public schools.
Knowledge of the professional development needs of school and central office administrators.
Knowledge of current training techniques for adult learners.
Familiarity with major administrator assessment and development systems.
Familiarity with Texas Public School administration and curriculum management.
Ability to build and manage a budget, supervise contracted personnel, and coordinate the varied service area functions.
Skills to provide and utilize data analysis to build solutions and monitor effective implementation and continuous improvement. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to build, interpret, and apply policy and procedures.
Ability to evaluate professional and support personnel and encourage continued personal and professional growth.
Salary Range: $150,000-$180,000-$210,000
Benefits: 10 earned personal leave days, 10 vacation days, and $500.00/month
as an employer contribution to assist in health insurance
