Description/Notes: | GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Student Community & Liaison (SCL) is campus level responsible staff for all student marketing and recruitment programs, re-enrollment and retention of current students and all related events and activities. RESPONSIBILITIES & GOALS Each campus will be assigned annual enrollment and average daily attendance goals: • Student Enrollment target: SCL is responsible to ensure the campus’ first FSP enrollment is equal or more than the campus annual enrollment target. • Student Re-Enrollment target: SCL is responsible to actively work during the Re-Enrollment time to achieve the campus annual re-enrollment target. • Attendance Maintenance target: SCL is responsible for maintaining campus average daily attendance numbers on or above the campus ADA target. • Student Retention Target: SCL is responsible to conduct exit surveys for all withdrawn students’ parents and enter the data to the tracking document. ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: • Identify the social service, educational, vocational, and cultural needs of students, and educate campus staff. • Recognize the need for students to utilize outside agencies and provide appropriate referrals for at-risk students in regards to health related concerns. • Communicate attendance goals to students, parents, school staff, and the community • Control the flow and distribution of records retention for all services and activities provided to students and families Enrollment: • Understands and supports the mission, vision and values of RMA. • Handles a variety of routine technical and administrative assignments • Keeps track of withdrawing students, ensure all exit procedures are followed and enroll new students to fill the available spots while maintaining the campus enrollment number on or above the target. • Communicates with school and district leaders for Enrollment Projections as well as enrollment, recruitment, retention efforts and assist with development of plans to reach the school targets • Utilizes campus social media for recruitment. • Participates in recruitment events and activities to meet their enrollment target. • Assists with community events for recruitment and assist with open houses, school tours, parent nights, recruitment fairs • Assist in creating and maintaining local networking for the school connecting local stockholders • Assist with engagement efforts with prospective parents & students • Assist in school wide incentives to increase enrollment. • Contacts families during the summer to verify enrollment for the upcoming school year, as well as, assist with contacting families who do not complete the enrollment application. • Attends all training and meetings provided by Central Offices. Attendance/Retention: • Communicate and interpret federal, state, and local policy on the subject of student attendance and admissions, including Texas Education Code and the Compulsory Attendance Law, to campus staff, parents, students and community. • Provide campus-based support in the areas related to student attendance and verifying student residency. • Evaluate and investigate cases of excessive absences and provide supports related to student and family need to include offering resources, issuing attendance warning notices, initiating truancy prevention/intervention measures, and filing truancy court referrals against student and parent/guardian. • Confer with campus administration on issues related to student attendance, leavers/drop-outs, and verification of student residency • Represent the district during truancy court hearings at local Municipal Court, as needed. • Organizes and announces school wide incentives to increase the average daily attendance. • Utilizes campus social media for retention and promoting campus activities. • Teach and reinforce clear, positive expectations for student attendance • Perform other duties as determined by Principal and/or Director of Student Services to and including site support at all RMA campuses for the successful operation of the program. • Work with Director of Student Services to provide breakfast in accordance with the Texas Department of Agriculture and a snack to students each day during the regular school calendar. • Obtain a food handler’s license for breakfast morning activities, as required. |
Qualifications: | QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelors degree preferred, not required • Minimum 2 years of case management experience preferred, not required • Valid Texas driver’s license and proof of vehicle liability insurance required EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Good organizational skills • Able to work independently, meet deadlines, have the ability to multi-task, possess innovative and creative problem-solving abilities, be resourceful and function as an effective team member • Basic computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Food handler’s license for breakfast morning activities, as required |
