Position Overview: 

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Advancement Officer to lead our fundraising, donor relations, and community engagement efforts. This is a key leadership role, integral to the executive leadership team, and essential in closing the $2K scholar funding gap, translating to a $3 million annual fundraising goal. The Advancement Officer will secure the financial resources necessary to support our mission and ensure long-term sustainability while also cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, including parents, alumni, community members, and philanthropic organizations. 




Key Responsibilities: 

Fundraising Strategy and Advancement Plan: 
Develop and implement a comprehensive advancement plan for Beta Academy, aligning with the organization’s mission, vision, and strategic goals. 
Design and execute fundraising strategies to achieve the $3 million annual goal and support long-term sustainability. 
Planned Giving: 
Establish and manage a planned giving program, encouraging donors to include Beta Academy in their estate plans and wills, thereby securing future financial stability. 
Leadership and Executive Collaboration: 
Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, contributing to the overall strategic direction of Beta Academy. 
Collaborate with other senior leaders to integrate advancement goals with the school's broader strategic initiatives.
Lead, mentor, and develop the advancement team, ensuring high performance and alignment with Beta Academy’s mission and values. 
Donor Cultivation: 
Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporations, and other potential funding sources to expand and diversify the school's donor base. 5. Grant Writing and Management: 
Research, write, and manage grant proposals and applications to secure funding for various school initiatives and projects. 
Event Planning and Management: 
Plan, organize, and execute fundraising events, such as the annual Giving Breakfast, donor appreciation events, galas, auctions, and community outreach events, ensuring they align with Beta Academy's culture and values. 
Marketing and Communications: 
Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling fundraising materials, newsletters, and social media campaigns that engage donors and raise awareness about the school's mission and impact. 
Stewardship and Donor Relations: 
Develop and implement stewardship strategies to cultivate lasting relationships with donors, including acknowledgment, recognition, and regular communication. 
Budgeting and Financial Reporting: 
Work closely with the finance team to develop and monitor fundraising budgets, track key fundraising metrics, and prepare accurate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders. 10. Board Engagement: 
Collaborate with the board of directors to leverage their networks in support of fundraising efforts, including prospect identification, cultivation, and solicitation. 
Alumni Engagement: 
Develop and implement strategies to engage Beta Academy alumni in giving and community activities, fostering long-term support and involvement. 
Strategic Partnerships: 
Establish and nurture partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, and other stakeholders to support Beta Academy's mission and fundraising goals. 

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, nonprofit management, communications, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). 
Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or related fields, with a proven track record of successful fundraising and donor relations. 
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate the school's mission and impact to diverse audiences. 
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, volunteers, board members, and other stakeholders. 
Proficiency in grant writing, fundraising software, and database management systems. ? Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective fundraising strategies to achieve organizational goals. 
Experience in planned giving and long-term fundraising initiatives. 
Leadership experience, with the ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a team. 
Passion for education and a commitment to the mission and values of Beta Academy.

Outcomes: 

Annual Fundraising Goal Achievement: Consistently close the $2K scholar funding gap, achieving or exceeding the $3 million annual fundraising goal. 
Comprehensive Advancement Plan: Successfully develop and implement an advancement plan that aligns with Beta Academy’s long-term goals, ensuring financial sustainability.
 Planned Giving Success: Establish a robust planned giving program, securing commitments that contribute to Beta Academy's future financial stability. 
Donor Base Expansion: Increase the number of individual and corporate donors by 20% annually. ? Grant Success: Secure at least $500,000 annually in grant funding for school initiatives.
Event Success: Organize and execute at least three major fundraising events per year, each generating a minimum of $250,000 in revenue. 
Alumni Engagement: Establish a robust alumni giving program, with at least 30% of alumni participating in annual giving. 
Board and Community Involvement: Successfully engage the board of directors and community partners in fundraising efforts, leading to increased support and visibility for Beta Academy.
Team Leadership: Cultivate a high-performing advancement team, with clear goals, regular feedback, and professional development opportunities.
