Description/Notes: Primary Purpose:

Responsible for supporting the PEIMS Coordinator/Director of Computer Services analyzing PEIMS Data for trends and accuracy, assisting in the development of reports for state accountability and in developing and coordinating training for PEIMS.



Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree


Special Knowledge/Skills:

Extensive knowledge of the Texas Education Data Standards.
Extensive knowledge of the TEC Chapter 37.
Extensive knowledge of the Student Attendance Accounting Handbook.
Advanced computer skills including the skills to create reports and reporting procedures for analyzing compliance data.
Technical skills to work with systems staff (Student Information, HR, and Finance) to develop and build reports for data analysis.
Strong communication, public relations and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain and organize data for completion of documents for government applications.
Creative and collaborative problem solving skills.
Must be very organized and self-motivated. Ability to complete tasks in a timely fashion.


Experience:

Five (5) years’ experience in PEIMS reporting preferred.
Five (5) years’ experience working with eSchool Plus preferred.
Experience working with Financial Systems in a Texas K-12 school district preferred.
Experience developing training materials (including video training aids).
Experience in providing training to large and small groups.


Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Support the PEIMS Coordinator in all areas of PEIMS.
Responsible for monitoring the accuracy of PEIMS data.
Responsible for maintaining and developing reports for monitoring district data in areas related to PEIMS compliance.
Responsible for training and for developing training materials.
Responsible for conducting site audits for data accuracy and process procedures.
Responsible for validating and editing and preparing data for PEIMS submissions.
Responsible for PET (PID enrollment tracking) as required by TEA PEIMS.
Provide PEIMS related customer support services for Departments and Campuses.
Obtain data for submitting other state and federal reports as assigned.


Other

Attend professional growth activities to keep abreast of innovations in information management and technology services.



Working Conditions:

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Frequent district wide travel and occasional statewide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.

Participation in Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment meetings and Technology meetings

Personal/laptop computer, printer, copier, fax machine, shredder, calculator, and telephone, electronic mobile devices, projector, display monitor computer, related repair and other technology equipment

There will also be extensive travel to district sites as assigned. Regularly sit, talk or hear; frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; frequent repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer; occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-50 pounds; occasionally required to stand, walk reach with hands and arms; vision abilities include close vision; and color vision, regularly work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress; the noise level is usually moderate. Some weekends and evening hours may be required.



Work environment includes typical computer related noise levels and paper and equipment generated dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis. Incumbent is on call to provide support services during off hours. Periodically scheduled night and weekend work is required. Learned physical skill is required for keyboarding and use of peripheral equipment.



Employees carry out system and network administration functions independently, with a sound understanding of the interactions between hardware, operating system software and network operations and the design and administrative requirements to ensure an efficient, reliable, secure infrastructure.



The employee is expected to bring projects to conclusion, including development of operating procedures, instruction and training, and required documentation. Work is performed, and technical decisions made with some latitude for independent judgment. Regularly perform multiple, highly complex tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions and compliance with legal guidelines.

Salary Range: Pay Grade 1 - Min: 51,168 Mid $62,400 Max $73,632
