| Description/Notes: | Provides coaching and support to classroom teachers to ensure the continuous development of instructional skills to generate improved student achievement in all content areas. Observes and provides immediate feedback. The instructional coach will work as a guide, collaborator, and consultant in professional growth and development for teachers on the assigned campus and across the district. Staff Development 1. Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to establish realistic and measureable objectives related to both the teacher’s individual professional development and student learning. 2. Support the continuous professional growth and improvement of teacher instructional skills through coaching and collaborative problem solving. 3. Plan and provide appropriate staff development for teachers, administrators, and staff based on student performance and data. Instructional and Program Management 4. Observe classroom instruction and provide feedback and coaching to classroom teachers to facilitate improvement and innovation. Demonstrate teaching strategies with students in classroom. 5. Provide feedback to campus administrators regarding teacher effectiveness in response to instructional coaching documented on feedback logs. 6. Work with teachers to analyze and interpret student data and use findings to develop and apply instructional strategies. 7. Develop curricular materials as needed. 8. Disseminate information regarding current research and significant developments on the state and national levels in area assigned. 9. Demonstrate knowledge of vertical and horizontal alignment. 10. Demonstrate ability to support work across all content areas on each respective campus and district. 11. Coach teachers by developing and modeling lessons, observing, and structuring activities that are designed to enhance instructional delivery in the classroom based on research-based practices. 12. Assist teachers with disaggregating and interpreting assessment data for all students. 13. Conduct PLCs with teachers using data to inform instruction to impact student achievement through targeted coaching and student intervention, as needed. 14. Support teachers in the development of TEKS aligned formative and summative assessments and informal assignments/activities. Page 2 of 2 15. Support the academic achievement of At-risk learners. 16. Compile data and keep campus/district informed of student progress/achievement. Other 17. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required. 18. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy. 19. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. 20. Support, implement, and assess various instructional programs and program effects on student achievement using TEKS Resource System (TRS), Eduphoria!, and district provided programs. 21. Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as may be assigned by campus administrator to include but not limited to student intervention. |
| Qualifications: | Education/Certification: Master’s degree preferred Valid Texas teaching certificate 3-5 years classroom experience Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation Ability to interpret data and evaluate instruction programs and teaching effectiveness Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Major Responsibilities and D |
| Salary Range: | Based on Teacher Pay Scale/Experience starting at $60,240. **Additional $2,500 Instructional Coach Stipend** |
