Description/Notes: | The Deputy Superintendent of Academics is pivotal in advancing educational excellence across our schools, focusing on leadership, student achievement, curriculum, professional development, and assessment. This role spearheads strategic initiatives to enhance educational outcomes, involving analysis and implementation of solutions to optimize student success, curriculum efficacy, and professional growth opportunities. Expertise in curriculum, assessment methodologies, policy development, and instructional best practices is imperative. Additionally, the role entails cultivating leadership and development programs aligned with district goals, supporting teacher growth, and facilitating effective communication between principals and central administration. The Deputy Superintendent of Academics acts as a driving force for educational progress, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement district-wide. |
Qualifications: | Education/Certification: Bachelor's and Master’s degree from an accredited college or university Doctorate preferred but not required Valid Texas administrator or principal certificate Valid Texas teaching certificate T-TESS and T-PESS certification Special Knowledge/Skills: Thorough knowledge and understanding of EC-12 curriculum and instruction Knowledge of state accountability and assessment Knowledge of special programs, such as special education, 504, EB and gifted and talented Knowledge of instructional technology Knowledge of leadership development Ability to interpret data and evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness Ability to manage budget and personnel Ability to implement policy and procedures Strong leadership, communication, public relations and interpersonal skills Experience: Five or more years of progressive education administrative experience including school and district leadership experience at an executive level. Experience leading the design, implementation and management of district-wide systems to improve measurable improved student achievement. Strong leadership & organizational effectiveness skills with demonstrated experience managing multiple complex roles and responsibilities. |
Salary Range: | Administrative Pay Grade 7, 12 Duty Months Minimum $130,000 Midpoint $160,000 Maximum $190,000 |
Benefits: | The district contributes $400/monthly to the cost of "employee-only" health insurance which is $175/monthly greater than the state required amount of $225/monthly. |
