Description/Notes: Primary Purpose:
The Network Engineer will provide domain expertise and leadership for the Region 10 Network Team which is responsible for the configuration, implementation, and maintenance of technologies that support the Service Center’s internal and external technical initiatives. The Network Engineer focuses on the administration of the server, storage, and network infrastructure to support the various software applications and services provided by Region 10.

Specific Responsibilities and Duties for the Network Engineer
Prepare plans for development, maintenance, and documentation of Data Center according to present and future requirements.
Monitor all software and hardware products and ensure compliance to enterprise standards and systems.
Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks.
Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, load balancers, DNS and DHCP.
Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation.
Configuring firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security.
Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
Managing scheduled upgrades.
Investigating faults in the network.
Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases.
Reporting network status to key stakeholders.
Provides emergency on-call support.
Manages all related functions of Windows(75%) and Linux(25%) servers.
Provide operations support to Software Development team.
Mentors Network Administrators and Network Specialists.
Manage vendor relationships.
Facilitate positive relationships with internal and external customers.
Qualifications: Education/Certifications:
College degree is preferred. Training (corporate, military, certificate) in lieu of college will be considered. Management and/or industry experience will be considered in lieu of college.
Current MCSE, CCNP, VCP, Red Hat, SUSE, and / or other Linux certifications are preferred.

Experience - Seven or more years managing Windows and Linus Server platforms is preferred

Strong familiarity with TCP/IP protocol and experience in DNS and DHCP.
Knowledge of network infrastructure including routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, and wireless technologies.
Experience managing various hypervisors (VMware/Hyper-V) running on x86 hardware.
Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining server hardware and network components including Storage Area Networks.
Ability to script(PowerShell/Bash shell) and automate server maintenance tasks (Ansible).
Experience in setting up and managing database systems (MySQL, SQL Server).
Advanced hardware & software troubleshooting skills.
Salary Range: $68,933 - $101,266 - $133,600 (Salary estimate based on experience and skill set.)
Benefits: Up to 21 holidays, 10 earned personal leave days, 10 vacation days and $500.00 per month as an employer contribution to assist with health insurance.
