Job Title: Director of Special Education Reports to: Executive Director of Special Education Employment Type: Exempt Pay Grade: Admin/Professional 7 Min: $95,099 Mid: $115,975 Max: $136,850 Days: 229 Primary Purpose: The Director of Special Education will provide leadership for the Special Education Department under the management of the executive Director of Special Services. |
| Qualifications: | Education/Certification: ● Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or university ● Master Degree in Special Education or Educational Administration Preferred Special Knowledge/Skills: ● Demonstrated leadership in the area of Special Education ● Knowledge of current best-practices in Special Education ● Experience working through legal issues in Special Services areas ● Ability to work effectively as part of a team and solve problems collaboratively ● Ability to act as an instructional liaison between district administration and campus needs ● Demonstrated capacity to be self-directed, organized and collaborative with all staff members. ● Strong communication, public relations and interpersonal skills. ● Demonstrated ability in the research, development and delivery of innovative technologies and learning practices. Experience: ● Demonstrated leadership in Special Education ● Campus Administration experience preferred General Employee Requirements: ● Regular attendance and punctuality ● Support and align work with the mission, vision, and beliefs of the district ● Follow and support board policies in areas of related responsibility ● Ensure district resources are managed effectively to maximize resources for student learning |
