Description/Notes: Primary Purpose:
Assist the school principal in overall administration of instructional program and campus level operations. Coordinate assigned student activities and services.
Qualifications: Qualifications:
Master’s degree
Valid Texas Teacher Certification by State Board
Minimum three years as a classroom teacher
Valid Mid-Management, Principal, and/or Superintendent Certification by State Board
Possess or obtain upon acceptance of position: Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) and Advancing Educational Leadership (AEL) Certification by the Texas Education Agency
Valid driver’s license with driving record that meets District requirements


Major Responsibilities and Duties:



Support a culture of collaborating through professional communities.
Ensure that effective instruction maximizes growth of individual students and student groups, supports equity and eliminates the achievement gap.
Help principal outline and track clear goals, targets and strategies aligned to a school vision that continuously improves teacher effectiveness, student outcomes and progress on campus performance objectives.
Coach and develop staff by giving individual feedback and aligned professional development opportunities.
Supervise operations in principal’s absence.
Monitor student attendance and work with attendance clerk and central office on follow-up investigations.
Create a safe school environment that ensures the social, emotional and physical well-being of staff and students, including but not limited to, safety inspections and safety-drill activities.
Adhere to the Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators in such a way that it demonstrates a moral imperative to educate all children and follow all district board policies and procedures.
Ensure that school rules are uniformly observed and ensure that a variety of student discipline techniques are applied to meet the behavioral and academic needs of individual students.
Communicate effectively with all audiences and develop positive, productive relationships through conferencing and other methods of communication.
Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned.
