Description/Notes: Primary Purpose:
Coordinate and manage the district career & technical education (CTE) program. Collaborate with district staff and outside personnel to coordinate the administration, evaluation, supervision, and improvement of the CTE program for the district. Plan and implement assigned CTE instructional initiatives and provide staff development for assigned initiatives.
Coordinate and administer the annual Advanced Placement (AP) exams for the district.

Master’s Degree in Educational Administration
Valid Texas Administrator’s Certification
Valid Texas Teaching Certification

Experience:
Minimum of three years’ experience as a classroom teacher in public education with successful
experience with students
Minimum of three years’ experience in administrative/instructional leadership role in public education
with successful implementation and coordination of programs

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Program Management
1. Oversee the development of innovative career and technology instructional programs and ensure that curricular documents, instructional support materials, student assessment instruments, and admission criteria are in place for each program. Ensure that curriculum renewal is continuous and responsive to student needs.
2. Identify and define local job opportunities for students. Recruit employers to hire students and work with the district to make opportunities for experience learning available.
3. Assume responsibility for career and technology education facilities and ensure that equipment and materials are available and in optimal operating condition.
4. Provide all campuses with career exploration and awareness resources and testing materials.
5. Evaluate the career and technology program effectiveness based on evaluative findings (including student achievement data) and recommend changes as needed.
6. Ensure that student progress is evaluated and that findings are used to make the career and technology program more effective.
7. Develop training options and/or improvement plans to ensure effective operation of career and technology education department.
Consultation
8. Plan and conduct community and/or parent meetings. Consult with parents, administrators, counselors, teachers, community agencies, and other relevant individuals regarding the CTE program of the district.
9. Consult with teachers to develop and provide CTE students with appropriate course work.
10. Provide resources, materials, and outside consultants as needed, to support staff in accomplishing program goals.
11. Establish and maintain open lines of communication with parents, students, teachers, and the community.
12. Assist students, parents, and teachers with career, college, and scholarship information.
13. Use appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.
