Oversee districtwide operations. Support the superintendent in all areas of administrative decision-making
and work toward achieving those decisions.

 Master’s degree- Required
 Texas Public School Principal Certification - Required
 Texas Superintendent Certification required or current enrollment in accredited program
 Minimum of 5 years of successful administrative and leadership experience in education

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
District Management
1. Assist the superintendent in the daily operation of the school district.
2. Incorporate district-level goals into operational objectives to ensure that students arrive at school and
school activities safely and on time; receive nutritious meals; and attend school in an environment that
is safe, clean, and conducive to learning.
3. Serve as acting superintendent in the superintendent’s absence.

4. Work closely with district leadership to facilitate support and communication between central office,
schools, and community stakeholders.
5. Provide organizational leadership to assigned departments as directed by the superintendent.
6. Ensure that the necessary time, resources, materials, and technology to support accomplishment of
department goals are available.
7. Monitor and reevaluate operations departments on an ongoing basis to ensure that district needs are
being met in an effective and efficient manner. Implement changes where appropriate.
8. Work with district leadership to develop, recommend, implement, and evaluate long-range plans and
projects as directed by the superintendent.
9. Work with district leadership regarding budget preparation for assigned departments and schools and
make recommendations to the superintendent.
10. Oversee forecasting of student enrollment and personnel needs for schools and assigned areas and
make recommendations to the superintendent.
11. Collaborate with architects and consultants during the design and planning phases of all construction
projects to ensure compliance with the district’s specifications, design and construction standards,
and building programs. Monitor the progress and compliance of ongoing construction projects.
12. Ensure a high degree of uniformity in school-related curricular and extra-curricular activities.
13. Oversee the development and implementation of school safety plans.
14. Oversee and implement zoning of district schools and conduct public forums as needed.
15. Oversee development of the district’s academic calendar.
Policy, Reports, and Law
16. Develop, maintain, and use information systems and records necessary to show progress on
performance objectives that address academic excellence indicators, campus improvement plans, and
district long-range plans.
17. Ensure implementation and compliance of policies established by federal and state law and State
Board of Education rules, and local board policy.
18. Assist the superintendent with governmental relations, working with area, state, and national
legislators to gather data and information to assist in interpreting the impact of legislation on the
district.
19. Ensure administration is aware of developments and changes in state, federal, and local laws affecting
education.
Personnel Management

20. Work with human resources to conduct investigations related to allegations of misconduct or
impropriety by district staff as requested by the superintendent.
21. Oversee the assignment or reassignment of personnel.
22. Select, train, evaluate, and supervise department staff and make recommendations relative to
assignment, retention, discipline, and dismissal.
23. Develop training options and improvement plans for department staff to enhance the effectiveness of
department operations.
Budget
24. Develop and administer the department budget based on documented needs and ensure that
operations are cost effective and funds are managed prudently.
Communication and Community Relations
25. Facilitate communication and collaboration among assigned department personnel, district personnel,
and campus administrators to enhance service delivery, program development, and customer
satisfaction.
26. Ensure that established goals and expectations related to district operations are communicated
clearly, consistently, and in a timely manner.
27. Maintain a high degree of visibility within the community and school district.
28. Demonstrate awareness of district and community needs and initiate activities to meet those needs.
29. Represent the superintendent and district before school and community groups and governmental
bodies as requested.
30. Advise and provide information to the superintendent’s staff, Board of Trustees, district
administrators, and others as necessary.
Safety
31. Ensure that safety standards are maintained in conformance with federal, state, and insurance
regulations and a district-wide preventive safety program is developed and implemented.
32. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Other
33. Attend board meetings and make presentations when appropriate and/or requested.
34. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local
board policy.

35. Compile, maintain, file, and present all reports, records, and other documents as required.

$113,318.00- 164,000
